Recognizing God's Purpose

Today's Word "So Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him. Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, 'You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!'" — Genesis 42:8-9 (NKJV) Thoughts on Today's Word  Joseph’s journey from being betrayed by his brothers to becoming a ruler in Egypt was filled with hardship, yet God’s purpose was being fulfilled. When Joseph saw his brothers, he remembered the dreams God had given him years earlier. At that moment, he realized that everything—his suffering, separation, and rise to power—was all part of God's divine plan. Often, we go through trials without understanding why. Admit the truth

Today’s Scripture:

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.( 1 Peter 5:6, NIV)

Today’s Word:

In the story of the prodigal son in Luke 15, this young man had taken his father's inheritance and wasted it all on wild living and partying. Pride rose up and tried to keep him from going home, but when he hit bottom working in a hog field, it says "he came to himself"--he got honest with himself, humbled himself, and was willing to admit his mistake--and returned home to a loving father who celebrated his return.

Are you letting pride keep you out of the Father's house? Are you worried about what people will think if you humble yourself and admit your mistakes? We've all made mistakes and done things we're not proud of. Don';t let pride hold you back. Pride keeps us from rising higher. The new beginning is in your humility. Healing, restored relationships, open doors, and second chances are in your humility. When you humble yourself, you'll come into that due time when God does more than you can ask or think and thrusts you forward to the next level.

A Prayer for Today:

Father, thank You that I can humble myself under Your mighty hand and break the pride that keeps me from admitting my weaknesses and mistakes. Thank You that Your power goes to work in me when I humbly admit that I don't have it all together. I believe that You will lift me up at the right time. In Jesus' Name, Amen"
