Recognizing God's Purpose

Today's Word "So Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him. Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, 'You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!'" — Genesis 42:8-9 (NKJV) Thoughts on Today's Word  Joseph’s journey from being betrayed by his brothers to becoming a ruler in Egypt was filled with hardship, yet God’s purpose was being fulfilled. When Joseph saw his brothers, he remembered the dreams God had given him years earlier. At that moment, he realized that everything—his suffering, separation, and rise to power—was all part of God's divine plan. Often, we go through trials without understanding why. Like Joseph, we may feel forgotten or unfairly treated. But in time, God’s purpose is revealed. What once seemed like pain can become a stepping stone to a greater calling. Pour the oil

Today's Scripture:

They brought the jars to the widow and she kept pouring. When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.” But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing.

(2 Kings 4:5–6, NIV)

Today's Word:

In 2 Kings 4, things were so bad for this poor widow that creditors were coming to take her two sons as payment for her bills. When the prophet Elisha told her to get as many jars as possible and pour her little remaining oil in them, it didn’t make sense. But when she obeyed, the miracle happened and the oil kept flowing till every jar was full. She sold the oil, paid the creditors, and had plenty left over to live on.

Has God put a promise in your heart, but it hasn’t made sense? Perhaps the medical report hasn’t changed or your business hasn’t improved, and you can’t see how it can happen. Don’t talk yourself out of what you know God is telling you to do. If you obey, the miracle will follow. Don’t miss your miracle trying to reason it out. Faith makes provision for the miracle by being faithful and by believing when you don’t see any sign of it. God is going to show out in your life as you pour the oil.

A Prayer for Today:

“Father, thank You that You are the true and living God, and You reward those who honor and obey You. Thank You that my obedience can never earn Your blessing, but it can lead to it. I believe that as I am doing the right thing You will reward me with favor. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
