Recognizing God's Purpose

Today's Word "So Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him. Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, 'You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!'" — Genesis 42:8-9 (NKJV) Thoughts on Today's Word  Joseph’s journey from being betrayed by his brothers to becoming a ruler in Egypt was filled with hardship, yet God’s purpose was being fulfilled. When Joseph saw his brothers, he remembered the dreams God had given him years earlier. At that moment, he realized that everything—his suffering, separation, and rise to power—was all part of God's divine plan. Often, we go through trials without understanding why. Like Joseph, we may feel forgotten or unfairly treated. But in time, God’s purpose is revealed. What once seemed like pain can become a stepping stone to a greater calling. Today, trust that even in difficulties, God is working behind the scenes for your good. Prayer of the...

Take care of you

Today's Scripture:

If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.

(Proverbs 24:10)

Today's Word:

Friend, when people are making a lot of withdrawals from your life, you have to make sure you’re putting in a lot of deposits. If you’re giving and giving and never filling back up, you’ll be depleted and weak. Don’t live with a hero mentality and let people make constant withdrawals from you without making deposits that refresh you. When you get spiritually run-down, emotionally drained, physically worn-out, it raises your blood pressure, causes you to live stressed, and you’ll be no fun to be around. If you’re not taking time to get away and rest, you’ll be living far below your potential. You won’t be as good a parent, spouse, leader, or friend.

Nobody can make this change except you. If you don’t learn to say no to some demands, you won’t have strength for the day of adversity. You have to say, “I’m making some adjustments to my schedule. My well-being is more important than keeping everyone happy.” You have to make it a priority to stay in balance. Take care of you.

A Prayer for Today:

“Father, thank You that You have called me to love and help others, but not to the point of becoming depleted and weak. Help me to protect my own peace and well-being. I declare that I will take care of myself and be strong for the day of adversity. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
