Recognizing God's Purpose

Today's Word "So Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him. Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, 'You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!'" — Genesis 42:8-9 (NKJV) Thoughts on Today's Word  Joseph’s journey from being betrayed by his brothers to becoming a ruler in Egypt was filled with hardship, yet God’s purpose was being fulfilled. When Joseph saw his brothers, he remembered the dreams God had given him years earlier. At that moment, he realized that everything—his suffering, separation, and rise to power—was all part of God's divine plan. Often, we go through trials without understanding why. Like Joseph, we may feel forgotten or unfairly treated. But in time, God’s purpose is revealed. What once seemed like pain can become a stepping stone to a greater calling. Today, trust that even in difficulties, God is working behind the scenes for your good. Prayer of the...

Don’t Play with Fire

Today's Scripture:

Do not give the devil a foothold.

(Ephesians 4:27, NIV)

Today's Word:

We all have positive attributes in our family line, people who passed down courage, talent, and good attitudes. There are also negative attributes that have caused heartache and pain, things that have kept people from their potential. It’s important to recognize that there are genes passed down that make you predisposed to the attributes. But the beauty is that doesn’t mean it’s going to happen automatically. You get to choose whether you activate that gene or leave it lying dormant. The key is to take the positive, build on the good things, and leave the negative attributes behind.

Don’t open the door to the negative attributes, to alcohol, compromise, bitterness, low self-esteem, poverty, divorce, or anger. Don’t wake that up. You’re going to be tempted. If you crack the door a little, the enemy is going to push and push. He’d love for all that negative baggage to be passed from you to the next generation. Don’t think you can compromise just a little, be dishonest just a little, run with the wrong crowd just a little. Don’t play with fire.

A Prayer For Today:

“Father, thank You that I can guard my heart and mind against all the negative things that have been passed down to me. Thank You that I can activate the positive attributes and keep the door closed to the negative. I will not give the enemy a foothold or play with fire. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Have a Cautious Friday.
