Recognizing God's Purpose

Today's Word "So Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him. Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, 'You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!'" — Genesis 42:8-9 (NKJV) Thoughts on Today's Word  Joseph’s journey from being betrayed by his brothers to becoming a ruler in Egypt was filled with hardship, yet God’s purpose was being fulfilled. When Joseph saw his brothers, he remembered the dreams God had given him years earlier. At that moment, he realized that everything—his suffering, separation, and rise to power—was all part of God's divine plan. Often, we go through trials without understanding why. Like Joseph, we may feel forgotten or unfairly treated. But in time, God’s purpose is revealed. What once seemed like pain can become a stepping stone to a greater calling. The Power of Forgiveness

Today's Word:

"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." — Ephesians 4:32 (NIV)

Thoughts on Today's Word:

Forgiveness can be one of the hardest acts to practice, especially when we've been deeply hurt. However, the Bible calls us to a life of compassion and forgiveness, reminding us that we have been forgiven by God through Christ. Holding onto anger, bitterness, or resentment can weigh down our hearts and hinder our spiritual growth.True forgiveness doesn’t mean that what was done to us is okay or forgotten, but it does release us from the burden of carrying the hurt. It is a process, one that requires God’s grace and strength. When we forgive, we reflect the heart of Christ, who forgave us while we were still sinners. Let us be reminded today that forgiveness is a path to healing—for ourselves and for others—and a key to living in freedom.

Prayer of the Day:

Lord, I thank You for Your mercy and grace that have forgiven me countless times. Help me to extend that same forgiveness to others, even when it is hard. Soften my heart and heal the places where I hold onto pain or resentment. Give me the strength to forgive, just as You have forgiven me. May my life reflect Your compassion and love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
