Today's Word:
_"But Elisha said, 'Hear the word of the LORD. This is what the LORD says: About this time tomorrow, a seah of the finest flour will sell for a shekel and two seahs of barley for a shekel at the gate of Samaria.'" – 2 Kings 7:1 (NIV)_
Thoughts on Today's Word:
In 2 Kings 7, the city of Samaria was under siege, and the people were experiencing a severe famine. In this time of desperation, the prophet Elisha delivered an unexpected message of hope: God would change the situation in a single day. This must have seemed impossible to the people. Yet, true to God’s word, deliverance came when they least expected it.
Often, in our lives, we face situations that seem hopeless, where we feel like there is no way out. But God reminds us through this passage that He is always working behind the scenes, and His timing is perfect. What seems like a delay is actually God's divine timing unfolding for our good. He can turn things around in ways we never imagined.
Today, trust in God’s timing, no matter how impossible the situation may look. When we place our faith in Him, we can be sure that He will provide and bring breakthrough in His perfect time.
Prayer of the day:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the reminder that Your timing is perfect. Even when I cannot see the way forward, help me to trust that You are working all things for my good. I place my faith in You today, knowing that You can bring breakthroughs in my life just as You did for the people of Samaria. Strengthen me to wait on You patiently. In Jesus' name, Amen.
