Recognizing God's Purpose

Today's Word "So Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him. Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, 'You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!'" — Genesis 42:8-9 (NKJV) Thoughts on Today's Word  Joseph’s journey from being betrayed by his brothers to becoming a ruler in Egypt was filled with hardship, yet God’s purpose was being fulfilled. When Joseph saw his brothers, he remembered the dreams God had given him years earlier. At that moment, he realized that everything—his suffering, separation, and rise to power—was all part of God's divine plan. Often, we go through trials without understanding why. Like Joseph, we may feel forgotten or unfairly treated. But in time, God’s purpose is revealed. What once seemed like pain can become a stepping stone to a greater calling. Finding Refuge in God's Strength

Today's Scripture:

“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” — Psalm 18:2 (NIV)

Thoughts on Today's Word:

In times of uncertainty and challenges, it can feel as though the world around us is crumbling. We often seek stability in temporary things—work, relationships, or our own strength—only to be disappointed when they falter. Psalm 18:2 reminds us that true and lasting refuge is found in God alone. He is our rock, an immovable foundation that holds firm when everything else gives way.God is described here not only as our refuge but also as our fortress, shield, and deliverer. This means He doesn’t just offer us safety; He actively defends and saves us from the troubles we face.

No matter how overwhelming life may seem, we can take comfort in knowing that God’s power and protection are greater than anything that comes against us.Today, as you go through your activities, remember that God is with you, shielding you from harm and providing you with the strength you need to face whatever lies ahead. When the winds of life blow hard, run to Him—your stronghold, your ever-present help in times of need.

Prayer of the Day:

Heavenly Father, thank You for being my rock and my refuge. When life gets overwhelming, remind me to seek shelter in You and not in the fleeting things of this world. Strengthen my faith and help me to trust in Your protection, knowing that You are always with me, defending and guiding me. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.
