Recognizing God's Purpose

Today's Word "So Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him. Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, 'You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!'" — Genesis 42:8-9 (NKJV) Thoughts on Today's Word  Joseph’s journey from being betrayed by his brothers to becoming a ruler in Egypt was filled with hardship, yet God’s purpose was being fulfilled. When Joseph saw his brothers, he remembered the dreams God had given him years earlier. At that moment, he realized that everything—his suffering, separation, and rise to power—was all part of God's divine plan. Often, we go through trials without understanding why. Like Joseph, we may feel forgotten or unfairly treated. But in time, God’s purpose is revealed. What once seemed like pain can become a stepping stone to a greater calling. Shaped by God

Today's Word:

“O Israel, can I not do to you as this potter has done to his clay? As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand.” – Jeremiah 18:6 (NLT)

Thoughts on Today's Word:

God, as the Master Potter, molds and shapes us through life’s circumstances. Like clay in His hands, we are constantly being formed into something greater, something more purposeful. Sometimes, life’s molding process feels uncomfortable or even painful. But this verse reminds us of a comforting truth: we are always in His hands. He sees what we cannot and has a vision for our lives that surpasses anything we could imagine.

Just as a potter carefully works with clay, God is patient with us, knowing exactly what we need to become our best selves. He smooths out the rough areas, strengthens our weaknesses, and shapes us according to His divine design. Trusting the Potter means surrendering to His process, even when we don’t understand it fully. Today, let’s find peace in knowing that the hands shaping us are loving and wise, committed to completing the good work He has started.

Prayer of the Day:

Dear Lord, thank You for being my Potter and shaping me with such care and intention. Help me to trust You, even when I don’t understand the molding process. May I have a heart that’s open and willing to be shaped according to Your purpose. Smooth out the rough edges and strengthen my faith as I rest in Your hands. I surrender my life to You today, confident in Your wisdom and love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
