Today's Word:
"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?" — Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV)
Thoughts on Today's Word:
The start of a new year is a powerful reminder of God’s ability to bring new beginnings into our lives. Just as the calendar resets, so can our hearts, minds, and spirits. God encourages us not to dwell on past mistakes, disappointments, or failures but to look forward to the new things He is doing.
This is a time to realign our hearts with His purposes, to dream big, and to trust Him with every step of the journey ahead. While the year may hold uncertainties, we can rest in the assurance that God’s plans for us are good, filled with hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). Let us begin this year by placing our trust in Him, knowing that His mercies are new every morning.
Happy New Year Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, We thank You for the gift of a new year—a fresh start filled with Your grace and possibilities. As we leave behind the past, we ask for Your guidance and presence in the days ahead. Help us to release old burdens and embrace the new things You have in store for us.
Lord, we surrender this year to You—our plans, hopes, and dreams. May Your will be done in our lives. Strengthen us to walk in obedience, faith, and love. Teach us to trust You more deeply, even when the path is unclear.
Bless our families, friends, and communities. May Your light shine through us, bringing hope and encouragement to those around us. We commit this year into Your hands and thank You for the blessings that are yet to come. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
Reflection:
As you step into this year, take time to reflect on what you want to carry forward and what you need to let go of. Are there areas in your life where you need to trust God more? What new habits, goals, or commitments can you make to grow closer to Him?
May this year be a journey of faith, hope, and renewal as you walk with God into the future He has prepared for you. Wishing you a joyful and blessed New Year!
