Recognizing God's Purpose

Today's Word "So Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him. Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, 'You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!'" — Genesis 42:8-9 (NKJV) Thoughts on Today's Word  Joseph’s journey from being betrayed by his brothers to becoming a ruler in Egypt was filled with hardship, yet God’s purpose was being fulfilled. When Joseph saw his brothers, he remembered the dreams God had given him years earlier. At that moment, he realized that everything—his suffering, separation, and rise to power—was all part of God's divine plan. Often, we go through trials without understanding why. Like Joseph, we may feel forgotten or unfairly treated. But in time, God’s purpose is revealed. What once seemed like pain can become a stepping stone to a greater calling. Count the Stars

Today's Word:

“He took him outside and said, ‘Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.’ Then he said to him, ‘So shall your offspring be.’” – Genesis 15:5

Thoughts on Today's Word:

In this verse, God reassures Abram of His promise. Abram, who had no children at the time, struggled to see how God’s promise of numerous descendants could come to pass. But God directed him to the stars, a vivid reminder of His infinite power and faithfulness.

Often, we too struggle to believe in God’s promises when our circumstances seem bleak. But just as the stars were beyond Abram’s ability to count, so are the blessings and plans God has for those who trust Him. His promises may take time, but they are sure. Trust Him to fulfill what He has spoken, even when the path ahead seems unclear.

Prayer of the Day:

Dear Lord, Thank You for Your promises, which are steadfast and true. Help me to trust in Your timing and to hold on to Your Word, even when my circumstances make it difficult to see the bigger picture. Teach me to rely on Your faithfulness and to believe that Your plans for me are greater than I can imagine. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflection:

What promise from God are you holding on to today? Are you trusting in His ability to fulfill it, or are you focused on the obstacles in your path? Take a moment to reflect on His faithfulness in the past and allow that to renew your confidence in His promises.
