Recognizing God's Purpose

Today's Word "So Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him. Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, 'You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!'" — Genesis 42:8-9 (NKJV) Thoughts on Today's Word  Joseph’s journey from being betrayed by his brothers to becoming a ruler in Egypt was filled with hardship, yet God’s purpose was being fulfilled. When Joseph saw his brothers, he remembered the dreams God had given him years earlier. At that moment, he realized that everything—his suffering, separation, and rise to power—was all part of God's divine plan. Often, we go through trials without understanding why. Like Joseph, we may feel forgotten or unfairly treated. But in time, God’s purpose is revealed. What once seemed like pain can become a stepping stone to a greater calling. Fix Your Eyes on Jesus

Today's Word:

“But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’” – Matthew 14:30

Thoughts on Today's Word:

In Matthew 14:30, Peter begins to walk on water toward Jesus, but fear grips him when he notices the strong wind. His focus shifts from Jesus to the storm, and he begins to sink. This moment mirrors our lives. When we focus on our problems instead of God’s power, fear and doubt can overwhelm us.

Jesus invites us to trust Him, even in the middle of life’s storms. Like Peter, we may falter, but His hand is always there to catch us when we cry out. Faith doesn’t mean storms won’t come; it means we can walk through them knowing Jesus is with us. Fix your eyes on Him, and He will give you peace and strength to keep moving forward.

Prayer of the Day:

Dear Lord, Thank You for always being near, even in the storms of life. Help me to keep my focus on You and not be overwhelmed by fear or doubt. Strengthen my faith so I can trust Your power and presence in every situation. Thank You for reaching out to save me when I call on You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflection:

What storms are you facing right now? Are you focusing on the challenges or on Jesus? Take time today to redirect your gaze toward Him, trusting that He will guide and sustain you through it all.
