Recognizing God's Purpose

Today's Word "So Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him. Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, 'You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!'" — Genesis 42:8-9 (NKJV) Thoughts on Today's Word  Joseph’s journey from being betrayed by his brothers to becoming a ruler in Egypt was filled with hardship, yet God’s purpose was being fulfilled. When Joseph saw his brothers, he remembered the dreams God had given him years earlier. At that moment, he realized that everything—his suffering, separation, and rise to power—was all part of God's divine plan. Often, we go through trials without understanding why. Like Joseph, we may feel forgotten or unfairly treated. But in time, God’s purpose is revealed. What once seemed like pain can become a stepping stone to a greater calling. Today, trust that even in difficulties, God is working behind the scenes for your good. Prayer of the...

Overcoming Criticism with Faith

Today's Word:

"When Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, he became furious. He mocked the Jews before his colleagues and the powerful men of Samaria and said, 'What are these pathetic Jews doing? Can they restore it by themselves? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they ever finish it? Can they bring these burnt stones back to life from the mounds of rubble?'” – Nehemiah 4:1-2 (CSB)

Thoughts on Today's Word:

In life, pursuing God's calling often attracts criticism and opposition. Nehemiah and his team faced mockery and doubt as they worked to rebuild Jerusalem's wall. Their adversaries questioned their capability, mocked their faith, and belittled their efforts. Yet, Nehemiah did not allow the negativity to deter him. Instead, he turned to God in prayer and pressed on with determination.

This passage reminds us that critics will come, especially when we step out in faith to accomplish something meaningful. However, we are called to focus on God’s promises, not the doubters’ words. Like Nehemiah, we can trust God to strengthen our hands and guide our efforts, even in the face of opposition.

Today, reflect on areas where you may feel discouraged or criticized. Surrender those situations to God and allow His strength to carry you forward.

Prayer of the Day:

Lord, thank You for being my refuge and strength in the face of criticism and opposition. Help me to trust in Your promises and remain focused on the work You’ve called me to do. Strengthen my heart and hands, and let my actions reflect Your glory. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
