Today's Word:
"That night the angel of the Lord went out and struck down one hundred eighty-five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians. When the people got up the next morning—there were all the dead bodies!" – 2 Kings 19:35 (CSB)
Thoughts on Today's Word:
This verse recounts a powerful moment when God defended His people against overwhelming odds. King Hezekiah had faced the Assyrian army, a formidable foe, with no human solution in sight. Yet, through prayer and reliance on God, Hezekiah witnessed a miraculous deliverance.
The same God who fought for Israel fights for you today. No matter how insurmountable your challenges may seem, you can trust God to act on your behalf. He is sovereign, powerful, and faithful to His promises.
Are you facing a situation that feels impossible? Bring it to God in prayer, just as Hezekiah did. Trust Him to work in ways beyond your imagination, for He is the God who fights for His people and brings victory.
Prayer of the Day:
Mighty God, thank You for being my defender and my strength in times of trouble. When I feel overwhelmed by challenges, remind me of Your power and faithfulness. Help me to trust You completely and rest in the assurance that You are fighting for me. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
