Recognizing God's Purpose

Today's Word "So Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him. Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, 'You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!'" — Genesis 42:8-9 (NKJV) Thoughts on Today's Word  Joseph’s journey from being betrayed by his brothers to becoming a ruler in Egypt was filled with hardship, yet God’s purpose was being fulfilled. When Joseph saw his brothers, he remembered the dreams God had given him years earlier. At that moment, he realized that everything—his suffering, separation, and rise to power—was all part of God's divine plan. Often, we go through trials without understanding why. Like Joseph, we may feel forgotten or unfairly treated. But in time, God’s purpose is revealed. What once seemed like pain can become a stepping stone to a greater calling. Today, trust that even in difficulties, God is working behind the scenes for your good. Prayer of the...

Unharmed

Today's Word:

"But Paul shook the snake off into the fire and suffered no ill effects." — Acts 28:5 (NIV)

Thoughts on Today's Word:

Paul’s encounter with the viper on the island of Malta is a powerful example of God's protection and purpose. While gathering firewood, Paul was bitten by a poisonous snake, but instead of panicking, he simply shook it off into the fire. The people expected him to suffer and die, but God’s hand was upon him, and Paul remained unharmed.

This moment reminds us that challenges and attacks—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual—may come our way. However, when we trust in God and His purpose for our lives, we can shake off fear, discouragement, and doubt. The same God who protected Paul is with us, enabling us to overcome the things that try to harm us.

Prayer of the Day:

Dear Lord, thank You for Your constant protection and presence in my life. Help me to trust You when challenges arise, knowing that You are greater than any obstacle I face. Teach me to shake off fear and discouragement and to stand firm in faith, confident in Your promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflection:

What challenges or “vipers” are trying to attach themselves to your life? How can you trust God’s power to help you shake them off and move forward in faith?
