Recognizing God's Purpose

Today's Word "So Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him. Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, 'You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!'" — Genesis 42:8-9 (NKJV) Thoughts on Today's Word  Joseph’s journey from being betrayed by his brothers to becoming a ruler in Egypt was filled with hardship, yet God’s purpose was being fulfilled. When Joseph saw his brothers, he remembered the dreams God had given him years earlier. At that moment, he realized that everything—his suffering, separation, and rise to power—was all part of God's divine plan. Often, we go through trials without understanding why. A Double Portion of God’s Spirit

Today's Word:

"When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, ‘Ask what I shall do for you, before I am taken from you.’ And Elisha said, ‘Please let there be a double portion of your spirit on me.’" — 2 Kings 2:9 (ESV)

Thoughts on Today's Word:

Elisha’s request for a double portion of Elijah’s spirit was not about power for personal gain but about fulfilling the mission God had for him. He understood that to continue Elijah’s prophetic work, he needed more than just natural ability—he needed divine empowerment.

Like Elisha, we should desire more of God’s presence and power in our lives. Serving Him effectively requires dependence on the Holy Spirit, not just our own wisdom or strength. When we seek God wholeheartedly, He equips us to accomplish His purpose in ways beyond our imagination.

Prayer of the Day:

Heavenly Father, I long for more of You in my life. Fill me with Your Spirit and empower me to walk in obedience and faith. Help me to serve You with boldness and humility, knowing that all strength and wisdom come from You. Let my life reflect Your glory as I seek to fulfill the calling You have given me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflection:

Are you relying on your own strength, or are you seeking God’s power for your journey? Take a moment today to ask Him for a fresh outpouring of His Spirit in your life.
