Recognizing God's Purpose

Today's Word "So Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him. Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, 'You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!'" — Genesis 42:8-9 (NKJV) Thoughts on Today's Word  Joseph’s journey from being betrayed by his brothers to becoming a ruler in Egypt was filled with hardship, yet God’s purpose was being fulfilled. When Joseph saw his brothers, he remembered the dreams God had given him years earlier. At that moment, he realized that everything—his suffering, separation, and rise to power—was all part of God's divine plan. Often, we go through trials without understanding why. Like Joseph, we may feel forgotten or unfairly treated. But in time, God’s purpose is revealed. What once seemed like pain can become a stepping stone to a greater calling. Today, trust that even in difficulties, God is working behind the scenes for your good. Prayer of the...

Lord, What Do You Want Me to Do?

Today's Word:

"And he said, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And the Lord said, ‘I am Jesus whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’” – Acts 9:5 (NKJV)

Thoughts on Today's Word:

Saul, later known as Paul, was zealous in his persecution of Christians, thinking he was serving God. But on the road to Damascus, he encountered Jesus in a way that changed his life forever. His immediate response—“Who are You, Lord?”—reveals the beginning of his transformation.

Like Saul, we sometimes move forward in life with our own plans, thinking we are doing what’s right. Yet God may be calling us to stop and truly seek Him. When we surrender to Jesus and ask, “Lord, what do You want me to do?” He will guide us into His purpose.

Are you resisting God's direction in any area of your life? Just as Saul’s resistance brought struggle, our stubbornness can make life harder than it needs to be. But when we yield to Christ, He leads us into a life of purpose and peace.

Prayer of the Day:

Lord Jesus, open my eyes to see You clearly. If I am resisting Your will, help me to surrender and trust Your plan for my life. Guide me in the path You have prepared, and give me the courage to walk in obedience. Amen.

Reflection:

What area of your life might you be resisting God’s direction? How can you respond with obedience today?

  1. I'm asking God to give me a work that has a fixed day off so I could have the time to have a small group that will lead me to a ministry that God wants me to do.
