Recognizing God's Purpose

Today's Word "So Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him. Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, 'You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!'" — Genesis 42:8-9 (NKJV) Thoughts on Today's Word  Joseph’s journey from being betrayed by his brothers to becoming a ruler in Egypt was filled with hardship, yet God’s purpose was being fulfilled. When Joseph saw his brothers, he remembered the dreams God had given him years earlier. At that moment, he realized that everything—his suffering, separation, and rise to power—was all part of God's divine plan. Often, we go through trials without understanding why. Like Joseph, we may feel forgotten or unfairly treated. But in time, God’s purpose is revealed. What once seemed like pain can become a stepping stone to a greater calling. Rise and Walk

Today's Word: John 5:8

Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.”

Thoughts on Today's Word:

The man at the pool of Bethesda had been paralyzed for 38 years, waiting for someone to help him into the water. But when Jesus approached him, He didn’t offer help to get into the pool—He simply commanded him to rise, take up his mat, and walk. This moment reminds us that when Jesus speaks, His words carry power. Sometimes, we wait for circumstances to change, for someone to help us, or for the "right time," but Jesus is calling us to step forward in faith right now.

Are you holding onto something from your past—fear, doubt, or failure—that keeps you from moving forward? Jesus is telling you today, “Get up!” Trust Him, take a step, and believe that He has already made the way for you.

Prayer of the Day:

Heavenly Father, thank You for speaking life and healing into my situation. Help me to rise in faith and move forward, leaving behind every excuse and fear. Give me the courage to walk in Your strength, trusting that You have already prepared the way for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Reflection

What is one thing you need to “pick up” and leave behind so you can walk in the freedom Christ offers? Take a moment to pray and ask God to help you move forward today.
