Recognizing God's Purpose

Today's Word:
"Then he said, ‘About this time next year, you shall embrace a son.’ And she said, ‘No, my lord. Man of God, do not lie to your maidservant!’” – 2 Kings 4:16 (NKJV)
Thoughts on Today's Word
The Shunammite woman had long accepted her situation—she had no child, and she had made peace with it. When Elisha prophesied that she would have a son, she could hardly believe it. Her response reflects the hesitation we often feel when God’s promises seem too good to be true.
How often do we hesitate to believe that God can do the impossible in our lives? We settle into our circumstances, thinking our time has passed or that our situation is beyond repair. But God is not limited by our expectations. His timing is perfect, and His promises are sure. Just as the Shunammite woman later embraced her son, we too can embrace the blessings that God has in store—if we trust Him completely.
What is that one thing you have stopped believing for? God is still in the business of miracles. Choose today to renew your faith and expect great things from Him.
Prayer of the Day
Heavenly Father, thank You for being a God of promises. Forgive me for the times I have doubted what You can do in my life. Help me to trust in Your word and believe that nothing is impossible for You. Strengthen my faith, and give me the patience to wait for Your perfect timing. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Reflection
What are you believing God for today? Have you stopped expecting because of past disappointments? Surrender your doubts to Him and embrace His promises with faith. God’s timing may not be yours, but His faithfulness never fails.
