Today's Word
"On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, ‘Peace be with you!’" (John 20:19, NIV)
Thoughts on Today's Word
After Jesus’ crucifixion, His disciples were afraid, hiding behind locked doors. They were uncertain, anxious, and overwhelmed with fear. But in the midst of their worry, Jesus appeared and spoke words of comfort: "Peace be with you."
This moment reminds us that no barrier—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual—can keep Jesus from reaching us. When we are afraid, locked in by doubt, anxiety, or uncertainty, Jesus steps into our situation and speaks peace over us.
No matter what you’re facing today, His presence brings peace that surpasses all understanding. He does not condemn or rebuke us for our fears; instead, He reassures us of His presence and His victory over all things.
Prayer of the Day
Lord Jesus, Thank You for being my peace in the midst of fear and uncertainty. When I feel anxious or overwhelmed, remind me that You are with me. Just as You spoke peace to Your disciples, speak peace into my heart today. Help me to trust in Your presence and rest in Your promises. In Your name, Amen.
Reflection
Where do you need Jesus’ peace today? Are there fears, anxieties, or uncertainties weighing you down? Take a moment to invite Him into your situation. He is near, and His peace is greater than any fear you may face.
