Recognizing God's Purpose

Today's Word

"So Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him. Then Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed about them, and said to them, 'You are spies! You have come to see the nakedness of the land!'" — Genesis 42:8-9 (NKJV)

Thoughts on Today's Word

Joseph’s journey from being betrayed by his brothers to becoming a ruler in Egypt was filled with hardship, yet God’s purpose was being fulfilled. When Joseph saw his brothers, he remembered the dreams God had given him years earlier. At that moment, he realized that everything—his suffering, separation, and rise to power—was all part of God's divine plan.

Often, we go through trials without understanding why. Like Joseph, we may feel forgotten or unfairly treated. But in time, God’s purpose is revealed. What once seemed like pain can become a stepping stone to a greater calling. Today, trust that even in difficulties, God is working behind the scenes for your good.

Prayer of the Day

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your perfect plan, even when I don’t understand it. Help me trust that every challenge I face is shaping me for a greater purpose. Strengthen my faith to see beyond my present trials and hold on to Your promises. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Reflection

Has there been a time in your life when you only understood God's plan in hindsight? How can you trust Him more in your current situation? Take a moment to reflect on how God has guided you before and trust that He is doing the same now.
